GHOSTIES IN THE TREES......FOR REAL!

These pictures were all taken within several moments of one another.
The first two are without flash, the third is with flash.  Nothing else was changed on the camera.   Any ideas on what the orbs might be?  They do not show up on pictures before or after this series was shot.

There are more pictures taken at the same time, some with and some without orbs in the tree and around it.

Sunday News

The Star of Bethlehem had these few blooms hanging on.  This truly is the last of summer's jewels.

Margaret has decided to move the white iris from their bed behind the house to the side front yard.  They have multiplied so much that they are bound and are not doing well.  Margaret says November is the time to pull and separate the bulbs for replanting.  I would love to use the raised area for herbs and zinnias next summer.  I feel I could handle that much.
Margaret doesn't like to work on Sunday, but she has to work when the weather allows.  I helped a bit ( about 45 minutes to her several hours ) this afternoon and we did get a lot of weeds pulled and some nice size piles of the debis stacked for moving to the burn pile.

Margaret wasn't able to work in her herb garden this year because of the heat and her health.  I am amazed at how much junk grew over everything while she was unable to tend it. The little oasis looks simply awful and beyond repair.  I'm sure it will get put right if Margaret can work as she wants to through Autumn and early winter.

The frequent and heavy rains have ruined the leaves.  There is mold or fungus on everything and we've had no cold snap to bring about any color.  The ground is mushy where ever you walk; the moss is showing beautiful green jewel tones though!

Moss grows on the incline of a ditch at the woods edge.

A picture from the back side of the house near our fence line.

The pines are dieing.  I wonder if it is the same fungus that is killing the pines out west.  When I was in Denver, CO, this summer I was told a fungus was killing their pines.
This is not good news as the front property line is edged with 3 rows of large pines.  I don't like pine trees, but sure don't want to see them die!  They do hide the road and muffle a lot of the traffic noise.  This is a dead end road but there is a new housing development below us and it has increased traffic more than a hundred fold.

Quiet Day

I spent a lazy day inside with my following.  Emma stayed close, as usual, and Cyrus enjoyed watching the activity out side the patio door for the majority of the day.  He is hollering right now as he just heard Margaret walking around upstairs and he isn't about to let her get by without the pleasure of his company for the evening.  I will have to transport him to the upper realm in a few minutes or I'll have no peace.  Kitty Foo-Foo has done his usual roaming around, jumping on the bed to catch a cat nap at my feet several times today.  I watched the movie Robin Hood this morning.  I like Russell Crowe, yum-yum,  and the actress that played Marion was very beautiful, but, alas, the movie was not very good.

I changed my 'babies' clothes today and put them into warmer garb.  They looked chilly in their summer wear.  Mary Agnes will need a sweater, I think.  Guess I'll put that on so her arms won't be bare.  They will not be Trick or Treating this week-end.

FALL FUN

Tessa and Johanna go boating.

This summer the canoe should have beautiful blooms spilling from it.  Until then it is great for exploring in.

Red sky at night, Sailors delight....

Red sky at morning,
Sailor take warning.
Red sky at night,
Sailors delight.

Hope I have that right.....Does this 'pink' qualify?  We've had enough rain to do us for awhile....

Warning Labels Required...Please

Cats,  and children,  should come with a warning label. One that says once you take possession of either you will never again have a life of your own.  No place will be private.  You will never be able to walk through the house without someone watching your every move, nor, will you be allowed to go into a bathroom alone again.

Ho, hum, I'm really bored and ready for you to go to bed so we can fight over the pillow....Can you not see how I am suffering here, Mom?!

Are you going to take me back to my room now?

Lord,  I almost forgot to put Sophia's pictures in....She took the one of the Dogwood seed pods, these, as you know are her favorite treasures.  She loves the red color and plucking  them one at a time.  It's a good thing this trees limbs are so low...otherwise I'd be jumping to beat the band and I'm sure that would be the end of me!

Today she found some pretty colorful leaves.  She took them (the maples) to bed at nap time and had me cover them up with her.

Bitchy, Bitchy, Boo!!!!!!!

During last night's storm Vincent's recycle bin rode white water rapids down the street's gutter until it was beached on a bed of leaves......  Boy, that was a close one!

The walk up to Vincent's house is blanketed with maple leaves.

Sophia asked me to take her picture beside the jeep.  She struck quite a pose, don't you think?  (The mud on  her blouse is from a fall she had as we left her yard.)

Here Sophia teases Cohen with, "Bitchy, bitchy, boo!", and a tickle, at which they both laughed out loud.  I  believe she meant,  "Gitchy, gitchy, goo"!  Gotta' admit I laughed too! She hollared the little diddy several times before they tired of it and we moved on.

 I know, I know, it's dirty.....but, she was 'digging' with a stick.

Sophia is pretty good with the camera.
Here they stand at the door to wave bye to me and blow me kisses.  I love you too, Little ones!

 One bright maple sapling.

I brought Sophia a pony.  She jumped right on and rode down the hall to her room to get her cow girl hat.  She gave me a
"Hey there partner.", and galloped off.  I asked her for a picture and very happily she obliged.

At nap time she put her hoodie on her head telling me she was a princess and asked me to cover her pony up with her.  This is how she went to sleep.

Cohen's serious look for the camera at lunch time.
Cohen pulls himself up to watch out the door.  There is so much to see!  Just processing the sight is hard work!

Finally, I catch that beautiful smile to share! Now, if I could just get a shot of those two teeth he has!
