Thanksgiving Dinner / Before and After

Margaret and I were invited to dinner at our niece's home yesterday.  The twins and their mother, Sara, really put on the dog, 'er, turkey for everyone.  Leo, is visiting from AZ and Sara, his youngest daughter, had a wonderful traditional Turkey Day Special.
                                      Clearing the table.....

I managed to eat a lot of food, but, did not take very many pictures.  I will have to show off Sara, her husband, Jeff and "Pop-Pop", Leo, in another post.
Sara has a lovely, welcoming home, and is a most excellent cook.  Jeff, whom I had not met before, was a very nice fellow and I'm looking forward to enjoying their company again.  Of course, the twins made the day most wonderful.

Sara's beautiful home and Christmas decorations made me want to come home to clean, paint and decorate!  Maybe I'll get a 2 foot pre-lit tree and put a few bulbs on it to add the Christmas Spirit to my under-world abode!  I may even get super charged and collect some of the crows foot from the woods for the mantel!  Believe me, if I do I'll post pictures.

My youngest and my oldest grandchildren.....though not all of them...

Monday Oct 4, 2010

Here Cohen is enjoying a very bumpy 'ride' in an English pram.  He is loving it.   Aunt Margaret rocked and bounced him for almost an hour and he still wanted her to keep going.  She wore herself out without ever having left the chair she was in!  And he took a short nap after his trip!

This is Aunt Margaret with my son, then, there I am in red, and next is my oldest Grandson, Patrick; he has just finished his Air Force training in Texas (boot camp and tech. school.)
My grandson will be stationed on Okinawa for the next two years and this was my last visit with him before he leaves.  Below Patrick is with his mom, dad and sister.

The joy of being a twin is something that only twins can understand.  It doubles life's joys and halves life's hardships.  I wish everyone could be a twin!  And I will add that it makes loving others more of a delight and pleasure.  All your other brothers and sisters are just more fun as sharing is born with you.

Sometimes it is nice to take a few minutes to look back at where we have been. It surely gives us a new perspective of where we are today. More often than not, even if the memories are not so good, the result of having looked back actually opens the road ahead.
