Cards

I have been making a few cards. I will share them with you here. Enjoy!

Rain!

It has been raining cats and dogs for days, as it usually does in February, and  the wind has been blowing as if it were March..  I don't know where we can go from January if this keeps up!  I guess the ice and snow can still usher in those last dreary months of the winter.
I actually enjoy cloudy, rainy days like today.  I like being snug inside and seemingly protected by the low clouds and heavy rains.  The world is blanked in gauze like fog and the rain covers and muffles all sound and cleans all the grass and leaves.  The trees seem to lift their heads a little higher after a good bath and the birds sing out their delight when the sun starts to shine again.  Oh World, I cannot hold thee close enough!

This is an old piece which is a salesman's sample of a china cabinet which I bought from a shop in Arcadia, NC. (Right down the road from the house.) I like the bowed glass front. I am using it to hold some of my favorite things. I have feathers, shells, dragonflies, stones, crystals, insect cases and seed pods amoung my many treasures. I love to look at them. The cabinet is small enough to stand on my bedroom dresser. Why, I enjoy these creations each day as I reach for my clean underware!
I must apologize for the pictures of the cabinet being sideways...I can't figure out how to turn them upright!

A Trip to the Beach

My friend, Kelley, treated me to a weekend at her condo in Myrtle Beach, SC. We attended a scrap-a-thon held at the Sheraton. We were inside scrap-booking for the majority of the day, and into the evening. After a day of working on our scrapbooks we were able to walk on the beach, and, since I rose earlier than Kelley, I was able to spend time out on the sand in the wee hours of the early morning. We also stayed a full day after the scrap-booking event was over. I tried to walk on the beach as much as I could...no luck with finding any really neat shells though. (I really didn't expect to as Myrtle doesn't usually have many shells wash up along it's beach. ) I did bring home two nice Lady Fingers and many interesting pieces of shells. I placed them in my treasure cabinet along with my many other wonderful finds from previous outings I have made.
