The support of citizens, friends, families and fire fighters from across this country in regards to the loss of Captain Caviness has been incredible! Here are a few more stories and updates regarding the passing of our brother.
Captain Caviness' death has been deemed to be a Line Of Duty Death by the International Association of Firefighters because he was working for the IAFF's Burn Foundation during the run.
A memorial fund has been set up in support of the Captains family. Tragically, he left a wife and two very young children behind. Donations may be made at the Greensboro Municipal Credit Union downtown. Checks should be made out to Will Caviness Memorial Fund.
Although funeral arrangements have yet to be finalized, a memorial service has been planned.
